March 28, 2012An Asian Tofu Take on a Taco Bar

I am in New York right now at a conference for food professionals but just wanted to quickly post a couple of great stories that just came out about Asian Tofu. One was a terrific video and article on   TastingTable.com. We filmed the video a few weeks ago in San Francisco to highlight how you can have fun with tofu in a low-stress manner:

 Tasting Table's assessment of the book included these comments:

Tofu is an intimidating subject for many, though as far as we're concerned, for reasons that are unfair and unsubstantiated.

But, happily, one of our favorite authors, Andrea Nguyen, is providing equal rights for tofu everywhere.

Her new cookbook, Asian Tofu, gives soybeans some much needed love. Punctuated with gorgeous images, the cookbook breaks down everything you need to know about tofu, from making it yourself to the various styles and uses in different cuisines. Goodbye, drab associations. Hello, full-flavored revelation.

I love the last two sentences. Go to the article, "Soy Genius", to grab the recipes.

Garrett McCord also wrote about Asian Tofu for Huffington Post. He thoroughly went through the book and posed great questions for me to answer. Read my Q&A with Garrett here.

Two media hits like these in one day is like hitting a double. Very cool.
