The video features some background information about the origins of my latest business venture: The Manila Machine–Southern California’s First Filipino food truck. The video also includes a dang-catchy theme song. Yes, The Manila Machine has a theme song!
The video was produced by A.J. Calomay of Xylophone Films, and the song you hear in the video was written and performed by the Los Angeles-based soul/funk/R&B band, Elson and the Soul Barkada.
So have a gander at the clip and enjoy. I must warn you though, The Manila Machine theme song will be stuck in your head for days.
Manila Manila Manila Manila Machiiiiiiiiiiiine!

CommentsThis is so awesome (and yes, that theme song is a killer!)
Posted by:Alison |October 22, 2010 at 02:33 PMVery cool - I'll share this on FB. And you're right, that theme song is stuck in my head...and I am also salivating as I type this. Lucky for me, I'm having dinner at my mom's tonight for some homemade Filipino food (uh, hopefully - better not be pizza night).
Oh, one suggestion: since it's cooling off, how about sinigang with salmon?
And another: how about bibingka for dessert...served on banana leaves?
Posted by:Reez |October 22, 2010 at 02:47 PMWow, that song is super-catchy!!!! =D
Posted by:TS of eatingclub vancouver |October 22, 2010 at 02:58 PMVery cool! I wish there's a Filipino food truck here in FL.
Posted by:R |October 22, 2010 at 04:15 PMYou're absolutely right, that song seems to be doing continuous re-runs in my head!
Anyway, I love what you're doing: raising the profile of a lesser known cuisine. I feel very passionate about traditional/cultural-inspired foods so here's wishing you the best of luck (and, as it seems, you probably won't need it judging by so many rave reviews)!
Damn that song is awesome!!!!!!!! I can just imagine a band playing that in a club.
Posted by:Beth |November 09, 2010 at 11:23 AMI wish I was able to spot the truck when I visited LA... but that's alright. All the best with this awesome, fantastic and uber exciting venture!
